The WiKi Divya Mat is an incredible tool for anyone who wants to attain optimal health and an increased sense of well-being. The mat is believed to increase circulation and blood oxygenation and is suitable for people with low levels of energy, high levels of stress, insomnia, backache and depression.

Blockages and tension in the physical body can create problems in both body and mind. By releasing this 'inner tension', we release a lot of the problems from depression to tense neck / shoulders and poor digestion. Regular use of the mat will help with this.

With its Indian origin dating back thousands of years, the bed of nails is a well tested tool for healing the body. It has been used by Indian Yogis (yoga practitioners) throughout time to attain perfection of body and mind. These Indian seers had created a bed to free themselves from suffering (tension) and to reach deep inner peace. The original bed of nails was constructed of wood and metal nails. Today we have recreated the bed of nails in a versatile, more aesthetically pleasing and user friendly design. We have replaced the nails with plastic and instead of wood, there is a comfortable Styrofoam padded cotton material. Each plastic button has 27 points and each mat has 230 buttons. This gives you over 6,000 points of contact with your skin which most likely surpasses the old traditional models.

History

In many cultures across the globe, pressure point therapy is known to be very effective with acupuncture in China to the Sami custom of lying on Juniper branches. It is not known with certainty how far back the bed of nails has been used to heal and increase well being in humans, however, we estimate at least a two thousand years.

During the 1980's, the bed of nails re-emerged in Russia where it was used in healthcare with great results. Extended research about the effects of the bed of nails where performed at Russian hospitals which showed amazing results. The researchers discovered that the bed of nails promoted decrease in inflammation, strengthened the immune system, showed promotion in tissue growth, increases in metabolic rate and decrease in stress levels. The Russian physicians were amazed that such a simple tool could have such an amazing effect on the physical body. But that's not all! Psychological changes occurred as well. Levels of aggression decreased and empathy increased, depression reduced and a general sense of well-being and happiness developed.

What do people use it for?

Back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, sciatica pain, muscle cramps, muscle tension, stiffness, frozen shoulder, pinched nerves, numbness in legs and feet, jaw tension, grinding teeth, insomnia, arthritis, inflammation, digestive problems, IBS, acid reflux, period pains, PMS, menopausal symptoms, depression, fatigue, mood swings, cellulite, low or high blood pressure, allergies, cold and flu, sinusitis, weight loss and many other conditions.

Other areas: after exercise to speed up recovery, during cancer treatment to ease the side affects (check with your doctor first), for infertility and impotence.

How does it work?

The WiKi Divya Mat works by applying non-penetrative acupressure on numerous points over an area of the body. The pressure stimulates blood flow and lymph circulation locally. Endorphins ('hormones of happiness" or "natural pain killers") are released. These are effective in blocking pain and producing a sense of well-being.

Research shows the following: 98% reported pain relief, 96% reported relaxation, 94% reported improvement in the quality of sleep and 81% reported an increase in energy level. Approximately half of the subjects with allergy problems reported relief of their symptoms.

When should I NOT use the Wiki Divya Mat?

People with sensitive skin should be careful and to avoid itching, always use a towel or wear a T-shirt when first using the mat. People with coagulation problems (haemophilia) or people undergoing treatment with anticoagulants such as Waran, Klexan or Heparin must not use the WiKi Divya Mat since there is a large risk of subcutaneous bleeding and bruising. People with severe allergic back eczema or general psoriasis should be careful and always use a towel and should initially lie on the mat for a shorter time than recommended, experimenting to find optimal treatment time. People with substantial skin damage on their backs should not use the WiKi Divya Mat. Also, people taking blood thinning drugs, people with serious heart disease and pregnant women should not use the mat.

If in doubt, please seek advice from your GP.
